Jürgen Klopp on the miracle of Rome: “I thought it was a joke at first”

Rome has done the impossible and Barca still thrown out of the competition. Jürgen Klopp thinks the whole thing is a bad joke.

Jürgen Klopp from Liverpool initially can not believe that the Roma after the 1: 4 first-leg defeat to Barcelona still the semi-finals of the Champions League has done. “I thought it was a joke first,” said the Reds coach at the press conference following the game against Manchester City ( 2-1 ).

Despite the Roma mortgage from the first leg Klopp was sure that a move into the semifinals for the Italians is quite possible. “They are a fantastic team, I did not expect it, but I knew it was possible,” the former Dortmund player said and concluded: “You have lost Mo Salah and are still in the semi-finals, which is strong!”

Semi-final draw on 11th April

In a rousing game, the Giallorossi defeated a weak FC Barcelona 3-0 and thus secured the semi-finals. The draw for the semi-finals will take place on April 11 at 12 noon.

In two good games Liverpool prevailed against Manchester City (3-0, 2-1) and also solved the ticket for the semi-final. For the team of Jürgen Klopp it is the first semi-final participation since the 2007/08 season.
